Information Growth Potential

The initial scope of EDH covers power and gas markets in the US (shaded at right), but the business model allows for an expansion into other commodities such as crude, oil products, storage, carbon, and more. Additionally, market coverage may be extended to the Americas, Europe and Asian markets. One thing is certain, the breadth and depth of data-access will continuously be growing. Consequently, EDH and its participants may look forward to exciting development towards establishing market transparency in many new markets and commodities.

Bringing a new level of transparency to energy markets

EDH is about bringing an entirely new level of transparency to energy markets. For too long, lack of widespread and reliable data on demand and supply has generated misguided pricing signals and distorted transaction prices. This leads us to EDH’s mission, namely to “eliminate energy market inefficiencies by providing information that brings meaningful transparency to the market stakeholders”.

To fulfill it’s mission, EDH has a strategy that that demands that we continuously work towards maximum of detail with a minimum of exclusion on available data. This can only be done with an approach to data management that is both transparent and incorporates the highest security measures. Only by deploying the most advanced security technology available do we bring the level of confidence and comfort to our participants needed for a prosperous relationship.

EDH promises to radically change the way you understand the energy markets, ultimately improving numerous aspect of the way you do business. We will engage all market stakeholders to contribute, while creating new standards on how data are gathered, stored and distributed.

Transparency. Standardized

Another core assignment for EDH is to make the data easily available to participants and standardized so as to be most valuable for analysis. Our data management processes standardize delivery locations, transaction types, and other aspects of the data. This standardization enables our participants to carry out the most insightful analyses possible on this vast hub of data with consistency and robustness whether viewed from high level or drilled-down to greatest detail. While participants may submit their data to EDH with their own nomenclature, EDH will translate each participant’s data into standardized nomenclature for its output.

Easy access to the output data will be provided by EDH and leading market information services licensed by EDH (such as SNL Energy).
